Class Descriptions

ADULT CLASSES

18+

 

Theatre Dance 1-2: basic-intermediate knowledge of dance focusing on technique and broadening styles throughout the genre. attire: loose-fitting attire, character heels/shoes, or jazz shoes.

Theatre Dance 2: an intermediate level of jazz/musical theatre dance honing in on style throughout the genre. attire: loose-fitting attire, character heels/shoes, or jazz shoes.

 

Ballet 1-2: beginner ballet with some knowledge of movement. 

attire: loose fitting attire, ballet shoes.

Ballet 2-3: intermediate-advanced ballet with knowledge of turns and jumps.

attire: loose fitting attire, ballet shoes.

Pointe 1: beginner level of pointe, mostly barre work, working towards the center

attire: loose fitting attire, pointe shoes.

Pointe 2: intermediate level of pointe, mostly center work with turns

attire: loose fitting attire, pointe shoes.

Tap 1-2: beginner to intermediate basic tap with knowledge of shuffle, flap, etc.

attire: loose fitting attire, tap shoes (flat or heeled)

Tap 2-3: intermediate-advanced. knowledge of intricate rhythms, and adding pick-ups.

attire: loose fitting attire, tap shoes (flat or heeled).

Contemporary 2: some prior experience in any form of dance. freeing form of ballet and jazz mixed together.

attire: loose-fitting attire, bare feet/socks, or jazz shoes.

MINIS, PETITES, KIDS, & TEENS CLASSES

Theatre Dance: structured to learn basic techniques and explore all styles of musical theatre genre.

Hip Hop/Acro: These classes will alternate from one week to the next, one-week being hip hop and one week being acro. Hip-hop dance is a vibrant, street style of dance. Acro (short for acrobatics) is a style used to obtain acrobatic skills to further dance training.

Dance Fusion: This class will focus on three different dance styles, including contemporary, hip-hop, and acro. Contemporary is a freeing form of ballet and jazz mixed together. Hip-hop dance is a vibrant, street style of dance. Acro (short for acrobatics) is a style used to obtain acrobatic skills to further dance training.

Ballet: honing in on technique to improve all styles.

Tap: learning the basics of tap - flaps, shuffles, time steps, etc. 

Jazz: learning the oldest and newest forms of jazz dance.

Contemporary: bringing ballet, jazz, and lyrical together in a freeing way.

Minis /Petites: the basics of ballet, jazz, and tap while having the most fun! 

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are available in any/all of the styles listed above, with any of the teachers' availability permitting.
